Climate: The weather in Spain is mild for most of the year, but can be very hot in places. Spain has four distinct seasons but because of the size of the country and its mountain range there is always somewhere which is mild. Money/ Currency: Euro which is made up of: Coinage 2 Euro, 1 Euro, 20, 10, 5, 2, 1 Cents Notes 5 Euro, 10, 20, 50, 100, 200, 500 Royal Mail: For those moving or relocating to Spain, Royal Mail provide an international mail forwarding service. At your local Post Office you can obtain an international mail Forwarding Form which must be handled in 5 days prior to your moving or relocating to Spain.

Pets: Dogs and Cats: No quarantine regulations apply to domestic dogs and cats moving to Spain from the UK, but a vaccination or health certificate is required. You will have to show a health certificate issued by a Veterinary Surgeon authorised  by D.E.F.R.A. in the UK, issued no more than 10 days before your pets enter Spain. You will also have to show a certificate issued by  D.E.F.R.A. (UK) which states that the animal has been kept in an area free of animal diseases and rabies. Neither of the certificates need to be legalised by the Spanish Consulate. Public Holidays: There are 12 National Holidays per year inclusive of Christmas and New Years day. Time: Spain is one hour ahead of GMT.  Business Hours: Almost everything in Spain -shops, museums, churches, tourist offices- close for a siesta of at least 2 hours in the hottest part of the day. Though hours may vary, basic summer working hours are 9.30am-1.30pm and 5.00pm -8.00pm. Most businesses are traditionally open six days a week.

Shipping to Spain: As a citizen of the EU moving to Spain, there are no customs restrictions for the effects you will be shipping to Spain. An early entry visa is not required when moving to Spain, neither is a work permit required. However on your arrival , a residence permit must be applied for with the Police when relocating to Spain.
